Our partners at SOMOS Community Care in New York City are making great progress. SOMOS is validating a program we created that enables physicians to prescribe to their patients a 10-day education and food supported immersion. We call this our PlantPure Rx Program. These physicians are prescribing this program and providing before and after biometric testing and counseling. SOMOS serves an entirely Medicaid population in four of the five boroughs of New York.
In this validation phase, SOMOS has referred 230 people into the program, which includes 50 of their own employees. They are getting outstanding results, in line with what we have seen in the past. It’s exciting to see dedicated physicians using this approach to treat their patients. Our goal is to move from this initial phase to a more expanded effort throughout the SOMOS service area. None of this would be possible if not for the passionate commitment of the SOMOS team to the welfare of their patients and the community.
On another matter, I wanted to mention the Holistic Holiday at Sea program. This is a cruise program from February 21-28 next year that is focused on plant-based nutrition. It is chocked full of instruction and inspiring programming. My father has been a long-time presenter and Kim and I also have spoken on the cruise for the past several years, and all of us will be on the cruise again in February.
I should mention that PlantPure probably would not be here if not for this program. We have met a large number of people on the cruise who provided critical assistance to our organization. We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the people running this unique cruise program.
